Privacy policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026

This policy explains what happens to information when you use Flashcard Revise ("the app"), made by lol nope ("we", "us"). The app is made for students, including students under 18, so we've written this to be easy to read.

The short version

What stays on your phone

These are stored only on your phone, and are never sent to us:

Pictures and the camera. If you choose to add a picture to a card, the app asks to use your camera or lets you pick one photo. Only the picture you choose is copied into the app, and it stays on your phone. The app never uses your microphone.

Spreadsheets. When you import from Excel or a CSV file, the app reads the file you choose on your phone. It isn't uploaded anywhere.

Reminders. Study reminders are created by the app on your phone. Nothing is sent over the internet to make them work. You can turn them off at any time in Settings.

Backups

You can save a backup of your packs and progress from Settings. The backup is a file that you choose where to send, such as Google Drive, email or your phone's files. We never receive it. Anyone you give the file to can see your cards, so only share it with people you trust.

Ads

If you haven't bought "Remove ads", the app shows a small number of ads, provided by Google AdMob. There are never ads while you study.

Because many people using the app are under 18, every ad request:

The app also blocks access to your phone's advertising ID.

To show an ad, count how often it has been shown and stop fraud, Google receives some information automatically, such as your IP address (which gives a rough idea of your location, like your country or city), the type of phone and its operating system, and whether you tapped the ad. Google's use of this information is covered by Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

If you're in the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, the app may show a message from Google asking for your choices about ads before any are shown. You can change your choices at any time in Settings > Ads > Ad privacy choices.

If you buy "Remove ads", the app stops loading ads completely.

Buying packs and "Remove ads"

Purchases are handled by Google Play (on Android) or the App Store (on iPhone). We never see your payment details.

We use RevenueCat to check which purchases you've made, so your packs and "Remove ads" work, and so "Restore purchases" can bring them back on a new phone. RevenueCat receives a random ID created by the app (not your name or email), details of your purchases, and basic information about your phone and app version. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Downloading packs from the store

When you look at the store or download a pack, your phone downloads files from our store website, which is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any website, the host may briefly keep standard technical logs, such as your IP address and the time of the request, to keep the service working and secure. We don't use these to identify you.

Children

The app is designed for students aged 13 and over. We follow the principles of the UK Information Commissioner's Office's Age Appropriate Design Code ("Children's Code"): privacy-friendly settings by default, no profiling, no location tracking, and no nudging you to share more information. If you're under 13, please ask a parent or carer before using the app.

Your rights

Because we don't collect information that identifies you, there is normally nothing for us to show you, correct or delete: your data is on your phone, and deleting the app deletes it. For information held by Google or RevenueCat, you can contact them using the links above, or contact us and we'll help.

If you're in the UK and you're unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
